Change The Way You Think About Aging
It’s time to age smart. Instead of letting ourselves go after we reach a certain age, there are medications that can help us continue to live healthy and vibrant lives.
Testosterone injections
Testosterone is a male hormone that’s produced in the testicles and plays a major role in maintaining red blood cell levels, bone density, muscle bulk and sexual function. Testosterone levels naturally decline as we age, but a dramatic loss of testosterone can lead to a variety of medical problems. This can include depression, fatigue, weight gain, and a low sex drive.
A physician can determine if you have a testosterone deficiency, and if so, testosterone injections may be able to help. These injections can replace some of the hormones you’ve lost and counteract the effects of a low testosterone level. Three of the most prevalent types of testosterone injections are testosterone propionate, testosterone cypionate, and testosterone enanthate. All three are synthetic forms of the testosterone hormone, with the main difference between them being the frequency of injections, the amount of time the injection takes to metabolize, and the amount of testosterone each delivers.
- Testosterone Propionate is a fast-acting ester. It metabolizes in three to four days and is usually injected three to four times a week. 100mg of Propionate yields about 83mg of testosterone.
- Testosterone Enanthate is a long acting ester, metabolizing in seven to eight days, but because it lasts longer in your system only needs to be injected once a week. 100mg of Enanthate yields about 70mg of actual testosterone.
- Testosterone Cypionate is very similar to Testosterone Enanthate. It metabolizes in four to five days and should be injected twice a week. 100mg of Testosterone-Cypionate yields about 73mg of actual testosterone.
